Indian banks and government portals run light OCR comparison against your existing on-record signature, so make sure the digital version matches the natural style you sign with. Don't use a fancy script font — sign organically. Keep the stroke thickness consistent (use a gel pen rather than a ballpoint that thins out). Photograph from directly above (no angle) to avoid keystone distortion. Shoot in bright natural light with no shadow falling across the page. If your signature has a flourish at the end, make sure that's fully captured — many OCR systems weight the tail of the signature heavily for match scoring.

    Your source photo is probably too small. Take the photo at the highest resolution your phone camera supports — at least 2000 pixels wide. We re-sample to the required size but don't invent detail that isn't there.
