Why some portals reject photos under a minimum size

Counter-intuitive but real: some government portals reject images that are too small. Examples — the UPSC online photo upload demands a file ≥ 20 KB and ≤ 300 KB. The IBPS exam upload portal requires ≥ 50 KB. The reason: very small files can be easily AI-generated or tampered with, so a minimum byte threshold acts as a basic anti-fraud guard. Our 'Increase Size' tool pads the file by either (a) up-sampling the image dimensions to a higher resolution while preserving aspect, (b) embedding lossless EXIF/metadata padding, or (c) reducing JPEG compression so the same image takes more bytes. Whichever method preserves the visual quality best — we pick automatically based on your target.

How to use this tool without losing quality

Drop your image, enter the minimum KB you need (most portals print this requirement; PAN demands ≥10 KB, UPSC ≥20 KB, IBPS ≥50 KB), and click 'Increase'. We will never up-scale dimensions beyond 4× (would create visible blur), and we use bicubic interpolation when up-sampling is necessary. If your source is already very high quality, we simply reduce compression to inflate file size while keeping the image visually identical.
